He was born on July 29, 1949 in Little Falls, son of the late Harold H. and Greta E. (Congdon) Weaver of Little Falls and he graduated with the Fort Plain Central School, "Class of 1968".  Alan furthered his education and graduated from Hudson Valley Community College with an auto mechanic degree in 1970.  He was united in marriage with Diane Jean Reid at the Fort Plain Lutheran Church on July 21, 1984; a loving and blessed union of 34 years, but overall a relationship lasting nearly 40 years.  His last professional employment was for over 20 years of dedicated service with Burrows Paper Mill and then Twin Rivers, as a mechanic, where he was currently working.

Alan was a car/Ford enthusiast and followed through with his hobby for many years as a mechanic.  He cherished his 1917 Model-T and attended numerous local parades and drove for the grand marshal for the Little Falls Canal Days parade.  He accumulated many awards for his work on his Model T throughout the years and numerous trophies.  He was also a antique collector of coins and local history items.  There was not an auction he would not attend or not like.  Above all else, he enjoyed every moment he spent with his loved ones, especially his grandchildren.  His smile could light up a room and he was the life of the party.  Alan will be dearly missed by all those who were fortunate enough to have known him.

Survivors include his loving and devoted family; his wife, Diane at home; his mother, Greta E. Weaver of Little Falls; his children, Brian Weaver and partner, Wendy Iamele of Herkimer, Cory Mykel and husband Jamie of Ft. Plain, Alan I. Weaver, Jr., of Ft.
