Gloria Beatrice Putnam

September 8, 1925 ~ February 23, 2018 (age 92)

Little Falls-Mrs. Gloria Beatrice Putnam, 92, formerly of Hancock Street, passed away peacefully on Friday morning, Feb. 23, 2018 at Mohawk Valley Healthcare Center, following a brief illness.

She was born on Sept. 8, 1925, in Bronx, NY daughter of the late Louis and Helen (Baumann) Block and educated in Bronx schools attending Christopher Columbus.  She was united in marriage with James Henry Putnam on Aug. 18, 1948 in New York City; a blessed union of 35 years until his passing in 1983.  Gloria was last employed with Little Falls Hospital. 

Gloria was happiest when surrounded by her beloved family, especially her grandchildren.  She created many wonderful memories that will forever remain with them.  She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Herkimer.

Survivors include her son, Nelson Putnam and wife Lisa of Clay, NY, daughter, Mary Helen Paparella and husband Anthony of the town of Little Falls, daughter, Catherine Holliday of Dolgeville; she was preceded in death by her brother, James Block; also surviving are her grandchildren, Jason Putnam and wife Allyson, Jeffrey Putnam and wife Rita, Christine Putnam Wood and husband Dr. Adam Wood, Melinda Regan and husband Martin, Matthew Day and wife Abigail, Amber McClure and husband James and Kyle Cooney; great grandchildren, Albert, Nellie, Corbin, Benjamin, Nolan, Natalie, Claire, Devyn, Kellan, Rylee, Mollie, Henry James, Chloe and Olivia.  Also surviving are nieces, nephews and cousins along with special friends.    

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to memorial visitation at Mohawk Valley Funerals and Cremations, 7507 State Route 5 (town of Manheim), between Little Falls and St. Johnsville, 315-508-5131, on Saturday, March 3, 2018 from 10-11 am.  The funeral will commence at 11 am also on Saturday from Mohawk Valley Funerals and Cremations, Little Falls with Pastor Naomi Sorrwar-Randall, officiating.  Gloria remains will be interred by the US Navy and reunited with her husband who was a Pearl Harbor survivor.  Please click above to offer online condolences.
