Salisbury/Stratford, NY-Mr. Harry Gene Jaquay, age 80, of Hadcock Road, (town of Stratford), Salisbury, beloved husband of Karen (Testa) Jaquay, passed away peacefully, on Tuesday afternoon, February 19, 2019. His passing occurred in the comfort of his home with the love and comfort of his wife and children, at his side.
He was born in Dolgeville, on August 10, 1938, son of the late Oliver and Flora (Purpura) Jaquay and educated in Dolgeville schools. Harry served in the US Marine Corps. for 4 years, 1954-1959 and receiving an honorable discharge. He remained a true Marine to the end and his passing has left a void never to be filled. Mr. Jaquay was a carpenter by trade and employed with the Local 120 Union, Utica, NY
Survivors include his devoted and loving family; his wife, Karen J. Jaquay at home; children, Joseph A. Jaquay and husband, Jeff Carlson of Chicago, Ill, Trish Jaquay of Little Falls, Matthew Bryant Jaquay of Stratford and an adopted son, Steve Mosher; cherished grandchildren, Jen Morse and husband Kirk, Kristy Vail and husband Luke, Luke Pedersen and fiance Faith Lasher; great grandchildren, Kaitlyn Lemche, Bella Berge, Juleah Pederson, Jackson Vail, Cole Vail, Ryan Vail, Conner Morse, Lexy Morse, Leland Pedersen and fiance, Faith Lasher and their child Lilly of MIddleville; siblings, Ben Jaquay and his son, Dustin, Pearl Edgett and her son, Larry, Jr.; and many other extended family members. He was preceded in death by a brother, Oliver Jaquay, Jr.; and children, Kenney, Lynn, David and Christine Jaquay.
