Stratford, New York-Joshua Louis LaVeck, age 29, of Stratford, passed away suddenly on Saturday, June 30th, 2018 in Fort Plain, NY.

He was born on June 23, 1989 in Little Falls, son of Louis and Teresa Lee (Wilson) LaVeck and graduated with Dolgeville High School, "Class of 2007".  Josh was highly and appreciated by his employer, Set and Service Resources, Raleigh, North Carolina.  Josh loved the outoors and was an avid gardner and fisherman.  He was also a talented blacksmith.  

Survivors include his loving family; his parents, Louis and Teresa of Stratford, his adored and cherished children, Rayne LaVeck and Aria LaVeck; paternal grandmother, Mary Edgett of Ilion; his siblings, Michael Foster of Inlet, sister Merica DeVoe of Boonville, Starr LaVeck of Little Falls, Gennifer LaVeck also of Little Falls, Brianna LaVeck of Dolgeville; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.  Also surviving is his loving life partner, Brittany LaJuett and daughter, Nirvana, who both were very dear to Josh. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Louis G. LaVeck and maternal grandparents, Eddie and Evelyn Wilson.

A celebration of Josh's life will be held at the LaVeck home in Stratford at a time to be announced.  There will be no calling hours.  In memory of Josh, please consider sending a living plant to the to family, which will be planted in his memorial garden at his family home, 384 Merriman Road, Stratford, NY.  Mohawk Valley Funerals and Cremations (Daniel J. Enea, owner), 7507 State Route 5 (corner of Bidleman Road) , Little Falls, 315-508-5131, has been entrusted with Josh's funeral arrangements.  The family will have a private gathering to say goodbye at the funeral home.
