Alfred Joseph "Al" Hauser, 83, of Cullen Road, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 25, 2024 at Little Falls Hospital.
He was born in Brooklyn, NY on Oct. 12, 1940, son of the late Alfred and Geraldine Sailor Hauser. Al was born and raised in the New York City area and was a proud and devoted Police Officer with the City of Harlem Police Department. On February 6, 1966, he was united in marriage with Annmarie T. Brady in Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Ozone Park, NY; a blessed union of 44 years of marriage until the passing of Mrs. Hauser on March 8, 2010. Mr. and Mrs. Hauser moved to Richfield Springs in 1986 to enjoy the blessings of retirement. The couple attended St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Richfield Springs. He served with the National Guard. Many will remember Al for his love of classic cars, especially his '51 Mercury. He won prizes at numerous car shows. Al also raised and raced pigeons.
He is survived by his devoted family; his daughter, Michelle Widger and husband Keith of Richfield Springs and their son, Joshua (Lindsey), their daughter, Alyssa (Kyle), their daughter, Destiny (Ryan) and their son, Keith; several adored great grandchildren who loved Al deeply. He is also survived by his two sisters, Rosemary Scheffler and Geraldine Kranitz and by a brother, Frank Hauser (Patricia). Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his son, Alfred John Hauser.
In keeping with Mr. Hauser's wishes, there are no services. Arrangements for cremation are under the direction and care of the locally/family owned Mohawk Valley Funerals and Cremations, 7507 State Route 5, between Little Falls and St. Johnsville, 315-508-5131.
