Alishia Denise Thayer, known to her loved ones as a spunky and fun-loving individual, passed away peacefully on January 24, 2024, in Utica, NY. She was born on May 2, 1965. Alishia was a beloved daughter, mother, sister, and friend, leaving behind cherished memories for all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Alishia was passionate about her family and devoted much of her time to her two children. She adored her son Harreson and daughter Meradith, sharing countless wonderful moments with them throughout their lives. Alishia's love and care also extended to her loyal and faithful furry companion, Bonnie. Together, they shared countless walks and cuddles that brought joy to Alishia's heart.

Traveling was one of the great joys in Alishia's life. She often embarked on unforgettable trips to Saratoga and Cape Cod with her loved ones. Whether it was visiting her daughter wherever she may be or taking Harry on adventures to warmer destinations, Alishia embraced every opportunity for exploration and creating lasting memories.

An avid fan of the BeeGees and Elvis Presley, Alishia's passion for music was boundless. Dancing along to their tunes brought a lightness to her spirit and added an extra beat to each day. She would often fill any room with the sounds of these iconic artists' songs and effortlessly spread joy to those around her.

Known for her strong will and welcoming nature, Alishia had an innate ability to make others feel comfortable in her presence. Her love knew no bounds as she consistently showed kindness and compassion towards everyone she encountered. In social gatherings or quiet moments with loved ones, she had a special way of making people feel valued and embraced.

When she wasn't busy filling the world with love and laughter, you could find Alishia indulging in some of her favorite hobbies. Playing golf brought her peace and happiness, and she often sought solace in the beauty of the greens. Additionally, Alishia had an eye for fashion and enjoyed the thrill of shopping, always rocking stylish outfits wherever she went.

Alishia's proudest accomplishments were twofold. Firstly, Alishia's greatest joy in life was undoubtedly her role as a mother. Raising Harreson and Meradith to be compassionate individuals filled her heart with immense pride. Her love for them knew no bounds, and their success and happiness were always at the forefront of her mind.

Secondly, she embraced the challenge of becoming an accomplished adult figure skater, captivating audiences with graceful glides across the ice. Her dedication to this art form will always serve as a testament to her determination and drive.

She is survived by her son Harreson Thayer, daughter Meradith Thayer, and her partner/adopted daughter Sophie Hill, Bonnie Thayer (her beloved dog child), former husband Douglas Thayer, partner John Orsaio, close friend Lorrie Flowers Kneszewski, and her loving father Norman Jerold.
