East Utica/Marcy, NY-Mr. Anthony "Tony" Ferrone, age 65, of Cavanaugh Road, Marcy, passed away suddenly on Sunday, June 7, 2020, at Faxton/St. Luke's Healthcare, New Hartford.
Tony was born on June 8, 1954 in Utica, son of the late Raymond Ferrone and Rose Marie (Calabrese) Bord. He received his education in Utica schools, graduating from Proctor High School. He went on to proudly serve our country with the United States Army for a brief time. For many years, Tony assisted in the family business, Ferrone’s Service Station in East Utica. After retiring, Tony loved hanging out at local coffee shops with his father and brothers and getting some breakfast and talking about funny things. He loved joking around. Tony loved watching the NY Mets and the NY Giants on TV. His favorite musicians were Elton John, Genesis, and Boz Scaggs. He was of the Catholic faith.
Tony was a very easy-going person and never would get mad at anyone. He had a famous laugh that would not stop. Tony was well-loved by so many in the Utica community and will be deeply missed by family and friends
Tony is survived by four sons, Anthony Ferrone Jr., Vincent Storms, Angelo Storms and Dominick Storms; his brothers, Raymond Ferrone Jr. and wife Claudette, Richard Ferrone, David Ferrone, Frank Ferrone and wife Tatiana, Steven Ferrone and wife Bonnie and one great sister, Carol Jonquil; his step mother, Lucille Ferrone along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and two grandchildren. He was predeceased by his father, Raymond Ferrone Sr. and his mother, Rose Marie (Calabrese) Bord.
There are no calling hours. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to his Mass of Christian Burial commencing at 10 am on Friday, June 19, 2020 from St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish, 648 Jay St., Utica with the Rev. Jim Cesta, pastor officiating. Funeral procession will follow to Calvary Cemetery, Utica where he will be laid to rest in the Ferrone family plot.
