Herkimer, New York

Arlinda Louise "Lin" Macri, age 63, of Galinsky Apartments, Herkimer, passed away peacefully following a courageous battle with cancer early Sunday morning, August 1, 2021 at Little Falls Hospital.

She born on January 24, 1958 in Utica and was known to most as Lin, Linda, and to a few as Aunt Winna Winda and was employed as a commercial truck driver. She was always the life of the party and even as a child she was the clown of the family, She would do anything and say anything to make you smile or laugh. She loved children and her many nieces and nephews remember singing, dancing and listening to her talk like Donald Duck.

Linda had a very big heart. If she loved you, you knew it and she would never let you forget it. Even if it meant calling you 10-20 times a day. She was a very giving person, sometimes to a fault (especially at the casino). She would, seriously though, give you anything she had even if it meant that she went without. She was very family oriented. Her family meant everything to her even though she may have been miles apart. She developed many close relationships that she held onto and cherished for her lifetime.

Linda was also a free spirit that held no punches. You always knew where you stood with her. She told you what she thought whether you liked to hear it or not. So regardless, if you knew her as Arlinda, Lin, Linda or Aunt Winna Winda your memories of her will stay with you for a lifetime and bring a smile to your face and a tear to your eye. As she said the day she passed, "Everyone has their own little box of memories and good times with me."

Survivors include her loving family, her brother, Louis Macri and wife Jennifer, sister, Kathy Ball she was predeceased by her brothers, John Macri and Frank Macri, along with her mother, Josephine Macri and father, Louis Macri.

Arlinda and her family's care has been placed in the trust of Mohawk Valley Funerals and Cremations, 7507 State Route 5 (corner of Bidleman Road), Little Falls, 315-508-5131. In respecting her wishes, cremation will take place. A Celebration of Her Life will take place at 156 South Third Ave. Ilion, NY 13357 at 5pm on Thursday, August 5th, 2021.
