Barbara A. LaRowe

East Herkimer, NY-Mrs. Barbara A. (Moses) LaRowe, age 82, a resident of Valley Health Services, Herkimer, formerly of East Herkimer passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 14, 2017.  Her passing occurred at the nursing home in the presence of family, following a brief illness. She was born on May 9, 1935 in Herkimer, daughter of the late Sheldon and Bernice (Filmore) Moses and educated in Herkimer schools.  Barbara was previously married to Theodore LaRowe who preceded her in death.  She spent 30 years with her companion, Joe Giachetti, who preceded her in death in 2000.  Barbara was last employed by Valley Health Services, Herkimer, but was employed with MDS in Herkimer for over 25 years of dedicated service.   Barb and her companion Joe had racing pigeons where they raised and trained them for many years.  She was most happy when in the company of her children and grandchildren.   Survivors include her beloved family; her son, Gary LaRowe of Gloversville and Linda Munio and husband Clifford of Herkimer; grandchildren, Christine and Benjamin; great granddaughter, Hailey; inlaws, Louise Stock of Johnstown; many nieces, nephews and cousins.  She was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Buchanan and by inlaws, Etta Heamion and Ted LaRowe, Sr. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to a graveside memorial service commencing at 1 pm on Friday afternoon, May 19, 2017 at Oak Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Gail Jay, pastor of New Life Chapel, Ohio officiating.  In keeping with Barb's wishes, there are no calling hours.  In remembering Barb, please send donations to the Alzheimer's Association, 441 W Kirkpatrick St, Syracuse, NY 13204.  The family would like to thank the extraordinary staff at Valley Health Services for the great care offered to Barbara over the years.
