Bruce F. Grainer, 75, a lifelong resident of Little Falls , passed away peacefully on Tuesday , March 28, 2023 at the Alpine Rehabilitation and Nursing Facility, in Little Falls.
He was born August 7, 1947 in Little Falls, NY , the son of the late Francis “ Red” and Lorraine (Rose) Grainer. Bruce was a graduate of Little Falls High School and Utica School of Commerce. He worked at the former Burrows Paper Corporation, now known as Twin Rivers Paper Company for 44 years, retiring in 2013. Bruce was an avid card player and frequented the casinos after retiring, always ready to hit the big jackpot. In his early years, Bruce enjoyed bowling, fishing, and mining for Herkimer Diamonds on the West Canada Creek with his beloved dog, Bear. Bruce was a true NY Mets baseball and NY Giants football fan.
Bruce is survived by his daughter, Melissa Slawson and husband, Doug of Clinton, NY and son, Al Grainer and wife, Stacy Jensen of Denver, CO, grandchildren, John and Hannah Slawson also of Clinton and Jorn Rex Jensen of Denver, CO, his beloved sister, Francine Grippe and brother in law, Robert, of Frankfort, NY, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Special thanks to the doctors and nurses in the Oncology Unit at Upstate Medical University and the staff at Alpine Rehabilitation and Nursing Facility. Also, cousin Rick Grainer, for his help throughout the years and dedicated friendship.
