Carlton Maricle, 82, of Little Falls, has climbed his last mountain (wall) Moss Island and sailed his last sail Rehoboth Bay, DE.
Carl was born January 11, 1942, in Cortland NY, the son of Carl Maricle and Margaret (Maricle) Robbins. He served his country in the United States Marine Corp 1959-1963. In 1972 he went on to receive his education at SUNY Geneseo, NY where he received his master's degrees in speech pathology and audiology.
He called Cortland NY, Syracuse NY, Geneseo NY, Dover DE, Peace River Alberta Canada and Little Falls NY his home.
While at home in Little Falls he enjoyed serving the children at several schools in the Herkimer County BOCES district. He and his sidekick Buddy (therapy dog) spent most of that time at Oppenheim and Owen D. Young schools.
Carl also had a private practice Audiology office in Little Falls for several years.
Carl found his passion in Little Falls climbing on Moss Island and went on to travel to climb bigger walls (mountains) in several countries.
He is survived by his sons Jeffery, Michael and Robert and the love of his life Allison. Granddaughters Alexis, Kayla and Malia, great granddaughters Audriana, Ella Grace and great grandson Emmett.
There are no calling hours. A celebration of life will take place Sunday, September 22, at 1 p.m. at the Little Falls Rotary Park (Marina area) in Little Falls. In lieu of cards, friends and family are encouraged to write about their favorite memory of “Coach.” His funeral arrangements are under the direction and care of Daniel J.
