MOHAWK - Carol L. Zicaro (nee Benfield) of Mohawk, NY, passed away peacefully on Thursday evening, April 17, 2025, in the privacy and comfort of her home.
Carol was born on July 23, 1938 in Newark, NJ, the daughter of the late Charles I. Benfield and Lois Pell.
Carol was predeceased by her beloved husband, Dominick. She was the loving mother of Deborah Durham, Alan Zicaro (deceased), Glenn Zicaro, and Valerie Lis-Farrington. She was the dear sister of Jacqueline Taylor, Patricia Delmerico (deceased), Charles Benfield (deceased) and John Benfield (deceased). She was the cherished grandmother of Chellise Durham-Smith, whom she shared a deep connection with as her first grandchild; as well as Lance Durham, Troy Durham, Elizabeth Zicaro (deceased), Cristina van Houton, Alexander Zicaro, Dean Zicaro and Carol Ann Lis (deceased). She was the treasured great-grandmother of Dominick Smith, Jaida Smith, Michele Chirichiello, Rocco Chirichiello and Maxton Van Houton. Carol is also survived by many other loving extended family members and friends.
