Cathy Jean Zabry, age 60, of Railroad Street, passed away peacefully on Saturday evening, October 26, 2024, at Wynn Hospital, following a brief illness.
She was born on April 3, 1964, in Ilion, daughter of the late David C. Parker and the late Carolyn Sommer (Robert Sommer of Cedarville) and she was educated in Mohawk schools. Cathy was united in marriage with Ronald Zabry in 1987, he passed away in December of 1994. She was last employed with the Frankfort-Ilion VFW Post 502 where she also was a member of the ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed spending her time with her friends, especially her close friend, Claudette Williams.
Cathy was a big Buffalo Bills fan and enjoyed Bingo. She will be missed by her family and friends.
Survivors include her children, Catrina Noffer and husband Jason and their daughters, Christina and Samantha, Amy Zabry and her daughters, Tiffany Kretchman and Veronica Chapple; her brothers, David Parker, Dwayne Parker (Cora) and Charlie Parker (Bri); and her aunt Linda Puleo and uncle Robert Horning, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
There are no calling hours. In keeping with Cathy’s wishes, there will be a celebration of life which will take at the Ilion/Frankfort VFW Post 502 (Acme Road) on Friday, November 8, 2024, commencing at 4pm. A special thank you is extended to the doctors, nurses and staff at Wynn Hospital, Utica, for their kindness and compassion. Also, a thank you is extended to Cora Parker and her Aunt Linda Puleo for their care offered.
