Charles Thomas Grotz, Jr., age 77, a beloved longtime resident of the Alpine Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Little Falls, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2025, in the privacy and comfort of his room.
Born in Bucks County, Pennsylvania on November 14, 1947, Charles was the son of the late Charles and Mae Grotz, Sr. He honorably served with the United States Army from November of 1972 – May of 1973, earning a National Defense Medal as a Marksman M16 sharp-shooter.
Following his time in the military, Charlie led a transient life, hopping train cars all across the country. He left an indelible mark on his “Alpine family” who helped care for him through his years in Little Falls and who will miss him dearly.
He was predeceased by his parents and his brother, George Grotz, in 2020.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at 3:30PM at Church Street Cemetery in Little Falls, where Charles and his brother, George, will be laid to rest. Military honors will be accorded.
