Charles Constantine Haberek

Charles Constantine Haberek, age 89, passed away on Monday morning, October 30, 2023 in Little Falls Hospital. 
 
Charles was born on March 11, 1934 in Utica, the son of the late Charles and Catherine (Sobolowski) Haberek. He graduated in 1952 from Dolgeville Central School where he played football, later being inducted into Dolgeville Football Hall of Fame. Charles was united in marriage to Carol Silvernail on November 28, 1953 sharing a devoted union for nearly 70 years. 
 
Mr. Haberek had several jobs including farming from 1953 to 1956.  He was a gas station attendent on the NYS Thruway, Indian Castle from 1956 to 1967, an oil and gas furnance repairman for Martin Green Co. from 1967 to 1987, lastly the owner and operator of Charlie's Heating & Electric retiring in 2010.   After retirement, he and Carol traveled all over the world making many new friends and went on several cruises. 
 
In his leisure time, Charles loved puttering in his garage, playing and walking his beloved dogs, Angel, Taffy and Honey. Charles was a former member of Litchfield Seniors, Ilion Moose Lodge, Electrical Contractors Association, Usher and Trustee of Jesus Never Fails Community Church and a member of Mohawk Valley Campers. 
 
Surviving is his wife, Carol at home, two sons, Daniel Haberek and wife Debra of North Carolina, Richard Haberek of Ilion, two daughters, Marcia Haberek of Little Falls, Jacqueline Johnson and husband Dr. Jack of Whitesboro, a daughter-in-law, Kathy Haberek of Little Falls, one brother, Matthew Haberek, two sisters, Joan Haberek, Pat Ryan, six grandchildren, Delano, Aaron, Philip, Andrew and Melissa and Tiffany who he shared a very special bond with and ten great-grandchildren. Besides his parents he is predeceased by a son, Charles Haberek and two brothers, John and Robert Haberek. 
 
In keeping Charles' wishes there will be no services. Funeral arrangements are under the direction and care of the locally owned Mohawk Valley Funerals and Cremations, 7507 State Route 5, town of Manheim, 315-508-5131.
