Cindy L. McCaw
Ilion, New York

Cindy L. McCaw, age 64, of Shull St., passed away early Wednesday morning, February 10, 2021 at Bassett Healthcare, Cooperstown, following a long illness.

She was born in Herkimer, on Jan. 13, 1957, daughter of the late John and Flora (McGraw) Roberts and educated in Mohawk Central School. Cindy worked for various employers before her last professional employment at United Healthcare in customer service. On July 28, 1979, she was united in marriage with Randy McCaw at Paines Hollow Church; a blessed union of 41 years. As a couple, they were truly partners in life.

Cindy loved the outdoors and enjoyed camping with family and friends at Hinckley Lake. In her spare time, she enjoyed baking and cooking. She was happiest when surrounded by her children and grandchildren. A mom who expressed unconditional love, Cindy engaged in every season of her kids’ lives, focusing on each of them and their families. She was a strong force in all of her relationships. In short, Cindy was beautiful, inside and out. She will be sorely missed but forever remembered by all who were fortunate enough to have known her.

Survivors include her loving family, her husband Randy at home; mother in law, Rosemary McCaw; children, Randy McCaw and Megan of Ilion, Rachael Minosh and husband, Mike of Ilion, Lucas McCaw and Starr of Ilion and Marcus McCaw of Ilion; her siblings, Heidi Benson and husband James of Ilion, Richard Roberts and wife Bernadette of NH, Joy Roberts of Herkimer and John Roberts and Yuanita of Herkimer; step mother, Marlene Roberts of Ilion and her children, Kathleen Harris of Ilion, Thomas Guzik of CO, Julie McDowell and husband Robert of Ilion; cherished grandchildren, Dakota, Donald, Brayden, Paul, Ethan, Michael, Jacob and Lilly; many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and special friends, too numerous to mention. She was preceded in death by her father in law, John McCaw and by her sister in law, Lori McCaw Moynihan.

Cindy's family wishes to thank the professional and caring doctors, nurses and staff at Bassett Healthcare, Cooperstown, especially mentioning the special care unit and the intensive care unit for their attentiveness and concern. In memory of Cindy, please consider a contribution to the Herkimer County Humane Society, 514 State Route 5s, Mohawk, NY 13407.

There are no calling hours. A celebration of Cindy's life will take place at a time to be announced in the spring. Cindy's family will gather privately to say goodbye at Mohawk Valley Funerals and Cremations, 7507 State Route 5 (corner of Bidelman Road), Little Falls, 315-508-5131.
