David B. Vanslyke

David B. Vanslyke, age 40, of Hancock Street, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, August 29, 2021 in the comfort of his home. He was surrounded with the love and support of his family, at the time of his passing.
He was born in Dallas, Texas, on May 4, 1981, son of the late Theodore F. VanSlyke and Vicki L. (Darling) VanSlyke who resides in Richfield Springs. He was educated in Little Falls schools, graduating with the "Class of 1999".
David loved the outdoors, especially fishing and camping. He enjoyed playing cards and hanging with friends around the fire. He was a jokester with a great sense of humor. David loved his cop shows and most of all, being in the presence of his loved ones.
Survivors include his loving family, his mother, Vicki L. VanSlyke and companion Dean Holdridge, Sr. of Richfield Springs; his grandmother, Constance Walrath and husband Walter of Little Falls; the love of his life and companion, April Bukovsky; his daughter, Destiny VanSlyke of Little Falls; his brothers, Christopher Vanslyke and wife Kathleen of Utica and Nicholas VanSlyke and wife Christine of West Winfield; his nephew, Trent VanSlyke of St. Johnsville; uncles, Leroy VanSlyke and wife Joan, William VanSlyke and wife Anna, and Scott Darling; his companions mother, Pat Bukovsky, his companions sister, Missy Bukovsky, his nephew, Xander Bukovsky. Besides his father, he was preceded in death by his son, David Theodore VanSlyke, by his grandfather, Bob Walrath and by his uncle, Keith Darling.
Relatives and friends are invited to visitation at Mohawk Valley Funerals and Cremations, 7507 State Route 5, between Little Falls and St. Johnsville, 315-508-5131, on Saturday, September 4, 2021 from 1-2 p.m. His funeral service will take place at MVFC, also on Sat., Sept. 4th beginning at 2 pm. Procession will follow to Rural Park Cemetery, Inghams Mills, where he will be laid to rest. The family would like to offer their thanks to the caring staff of Hospice Care, Inc. for their kindness and compassion.
