David J. Roydhouse, 70, of Canastota, passed away peacefully, Thursday, May 28, 2020, in UR Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester, with his loving daughter at his side, following a brief illness.
David was born on December 2, 1949, in Salina, Kansas, the son of the late Rodman and Grace Starbird Roydhouse. He served in the United State Marines. David owned and operated CanMaR Construction in Florida.
He had a great passion for boats and fishing. David would spend hours tinkering with his boat and any project that would come up. He had a free spirit and enjoyed having a good time with his family and friends. David’s impression will be left on all who he touched throughout the years.
David is survived by his daughter, Alicia Roydhouse of Oneida; his grandchildren, Grace Roydhouse, Liam Porter and Noah Ostwald; his siblings, Janet Archer, Paul Roydhouse, Brad Roydhouse and Lois Shaffer, all of Florida and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
David’s celebration of life and internment will be held at privately by the family.
David and his family’s care have been placed in the trust of Mohawk Valley Funerals and Cremations, 7507 State Route 5, Little Falls, at the corner of Bidleman Road. (315)508-5131.
