David A. Krick, Sr., 69, a lifelong resident of the Mohawk Valley, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 2, 2024 in New Jersey, with family members by his side from natural causes.
He was born in Ilion on April 15, 1954 to Donald Krick Sr., and Doris Lowell.. Dave was an avid golfer and fisherman. Dave also was very passionate about Drum and Bugle Corps, spending many years on the volunteer committee for Drums Along the Mohawk. Dave had a love for sports as well, especially football, baseball and basketball, primarily. The Buffalo Bills, Syracuse Orange and NY Mets were his favorite teams. He was educated in Frankfort schools.
He was the head groundskeeper for Pine Hills Golf Course for many years which he enjoyed very much. His last employment being the Wal-Mart Supercenter.
On December 6, 1975, Dave entered into Holy Matrimony with the late Sherry L.. Rex. Dave and Sherry were wed for 47 years and together raised six children. Mrs. Krick passed away on Nov. 21, 2023. Her services took place in Herkimer.
Dave is survived by his sister, Donna Krick and wife Melody Waters of Ilion, his daughter, Heather Watson and husband George of Ilion, daughter, Kelly Marlowe and husband Keith of Malone, daughter, Tracey King and husband Jeremy of Las Vegas, son, David Krick Jr. of Salisbury, son, Bryan Krick and wife Robecca of Ilion. Survivors also include several nieces and nephews as well as grandchildren and great grandchildren and a special “brat”, Melissa Krick. Dave had a special place in his heart for his grandchildren and great grandchildren, Tiffany, Keith Jr., Brandon, Matthew, Shauna, Daniel, Gabby, Brittany, Austin, Anna, Caleb, Callie, David III, Breanna, Nicholas, Jordan, Courtney, Miranda and Hunter; his great grandchildren include Isaiah, Jayden, Brandi, Brian, Nova, Ryker and Eastyn.
Dave is predeceased by his parents, Donald and Doris, his brother, Donald Jr., wife, Sherry and son, Lauren Krick on July 2, 2022. Services are private.
