Deborah "Debbi" Whittaker, of Little Falls, passed away peacefully on Friday evening, March 24, 2023 at Bassett Healthcare, Cooperstown.  At the time of her passing, she had the love and support of her daughter, Toni-Anne Johns and husband Luke, at her bedside.

She was born on Dec. 2, 1955, daughter of the late Patrick and Mary (White) Whittaker.  Debbi grew up in New York City and always enjoyed telling stories of her younger years in “THE City”.  She was employed as a nurse for her working career.

Debbi’s life was simple.  Her hobbies, church and breakfast on Sunday mornings with the ladies, coffee with caramel macchiato creamer, crime shows and granddaughters, granddaughters, granddaughters.  Debbi graduated from the playground for hours each day to attending every single soccer Sunday, games, musicals, concerts, and awards, she was always there.  Family was what she lived for and her children and grandchildren were the absolute highlights of her life.

Survivors include her children, Toni-Anne (Petraia) and husband Luke Johns of Little Falls, NY and Garrett Petraia and wife, Kassandra Stephens of Katy, Texas, granddaughters, Alexa, Lucy and Juliet Johns of Little Falls, NY and Lula Petraia of Katy, Texas.  Also surviving are many friends, in-laws, and like-family “cousins/aunts/uncles/children/grandchildren” who will miss Debbi’s table where coffee, snacks and love were given freely.

A memorial service will take place, with the Rev. Chris Wintermute, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating at a later date. Cremation arrangements are being planned with Mohawk Valley Funerals and Cremations, 7507 State Route 5, between Little Falls and St. Johnsville, 315-508-5131.  Kindly consider memorial contributions in her name to the First Baptist Church (555 Albany St. Little Falls, NY), St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Pause 4 All Paws of Herkimer County to honor those that she cared most about and those who gave her back the unconditional love that she showed.
