ILION - Debra L. Sweet, age 58, of Ilion, passed away, unexpectedly, on Monday, October 11th, 2021, in her home in Ilion.
She was born on April 17, 1963, in Gloversville, daughter of the late Kenneth and Loretta (Beyer) Sweet. Debra was last employed at Wal-Mart, Herkimer. Debra loved crocheting with her daughter, Stefanie, and enjoyed her trips to the casino.
Survivors include her beloved family: her daughter, Stefanie Holleran (Eric), of Salibury, Brian Dennis (Kaytlyn), of Herkimer, Rachael Harrington, of Herkimer and John Harrington (Amanda), of Richmond Hill, GA; stepmother, Eunice Skinner; 23 grandchildren, Cheyanne (Travis), Eric, Jr, Christian, Alani, Jamey, Azaria, Caitlyn, Baker, Brian, Brianna, Mason, Antonio, Hannah, Paisley, Mylah, Ameliyah, Summer, Gabriel, Kiera, Avianna, John, IV and Kaelynn; and 3 great-grandchildren, Nova, Natilie and Jaxson. She also leaves her siblings, Christine Dennis, of Mohawk, Diane Howell (Rick), of Canjoharie, Richard Sweet (Arlene), of Gloversville, Robert Sweet (Tammy), of Little Falls, Sara Cambell (Terry), of Little Falls, Sue Sweet-Hart, of Herkimer and Kenneth Sweet, Jr. (Mary), of NC. She also leaves many nieces, nephews and close friends; as well as her ex-husband, James Vanburen. Her two fur babies, Tiny Bubbles and Chey Chey, that she loved very much, will surely miss her. She was predeceased by her biological parents, Kenneth Sweet and Loretta Beyer; her angel grandbaby, Sabrina Harrington; and Bonnie Howell and Sherri Wadsworth.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to Debra’s Memorial Service commencing at 2 p.m. on Sunday, October 17, 2021 from Mohawk Valley Funerals and Cremations, 7507 State Route 5, Little Falls (corner of Bidleman Rd.); 315-508-5131. Visitation will be held prior to the service on Sunday from 12-2 p.m. at MVFC. Burial will take place privately. A Celebration of her Life will be held following her Memorial Service at the Mohawk American legion at 43 W. Main St., Mohawk, NY 13407.
