Diane L. (Sherwood) Gorman, 70, of Flint Ave, Ext., beloved wife of the late Ted Gorman, passed away on Friday morning, November 5, 2021 in the peace and comfort of her home. At the time of her passing, she was in the presence of her loving family.
Diane was born on Nov. 27, 1950 in Little Falls, loving daughter of Grace (Nabinger) Sherwood and the late Gradon Sherwood. Diane attended school in Little Falls, and graduated from Utica School of Commerce with an executive secretary degree. She was united in marriage with Ted Gorman on October 20, 1973. The couple shared a devoted and loving union of 28 years until the unexpected passing of Ted, on April 30th, 2001.
Diane enjoyed being surrounded her family, always. She was a dedicated mother first and foremost, treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. Diane especially loved her role as “Non”. She had a vivacious personality and always made people around her laugh. Diane enjoyed the many sporting events, birthday parties and family gatherings. She was last employed by the Little Falls City School District, where she worked as a substitute teacher.
She is the loving and devoted daughter of Grace Sherwood, loving and cherished mother of Scott Gorman and wife Tiffany of Little Falls, Lori Gorman and Darlene Dorrington of Little Falls and Kelly Gorman of Little Falls. She was the most adored Non to her grandchildren; Scotty Gorman, Callie (Gorman) Terzi and husband Brandon, Gabby Gorman, Kiarra Torres, Nikolas Torres, Izayah Gorman, and Adonis Gorman, all of Little Falls. She is also survived by her loving sister, Sandy Ross of Little Falls, brothers, Brad and his wife Christine Sherwood of Little Falls and Jamie Anderson, and sister, Debbie Connor of Mohawk. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
Diane and her family's care has been placed in the trust of Mohawk Valley Funerals and Cremations, 7507 State Route 5, Little Falls (corner of Bidleman Road), 315-508-5131. Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours at MVFC on Tuesday evening, November 9, 2021 from 6-8 pm. She will be laid to rest alongside her husband Ted, Wednesday morning, November 10, at 10:30 am at St. Mary’s Cemetery, town of Herkimer.
