Donald E. Snow, age 64, of Canastota, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, December 22, 2024, at Upstate Medical Center, Syracuse, following a long illness.
He was born in Syracuse on July 28, 1960, son of the late Edward Eugene and Rita (Vaile) Snow (Ft. Plain) and graduated from Chittenango High School. He attended East Syracuse BOCES for the carpentry trade which he continued throughout his working career.
Don loved to cook. He enjoyed gardening, tinkering with fast cars and recently had a love for racing snowmobiles. He belonged to the NY and St. Louis Carpenters Unions. For the past several years he took care of his mother, Rita, in Canastota and in recent years spent time volunteering at his church, Oneida Lake Congregational Church.
Survivors besides his mother, Rita of Fort Plain, include his children, Matthew Barber and wife Michelle of Fayetteville and Jessie Snow of Auburn; his grandchildren, Griffin and Nolan Barber; a sister, Yvonne L. Hrobuchak and husband Ronald of Ft. Plain; many cousins, nieces and nephews.
In keeping with Donald’s wishes, services will be private and at the convenience of the family. The family is receiving caring guidance for the cremation process from Daniel J. Enea, Director of Mohawk Valley Funerals and Cremations, 7507 State Route 5, between St. Johnsville and Little Falls, 315-508-5131.
