Donna Gail Sami Pulver

Herkimer, NY-Donna Gail "Sami" Pulver, age 74, of Galinsky Apts., formerly of E. Herkimer and Folts Homes, passed away peacefully on Thursday evening, Nov. 8, 2018 at the Siegenthaler Center, town of Kirkland. She was born on June 19, 1944 in Connecticut, daughter of the late Eldridge and Lillian (Hawkes) Pulver and raised in Dutches County.  She attended the Smithfield Presbyterian Church and graduated from Pine Plains Central School.  She furthered her education attending Herkimer County Community College and received a bachelors and masters degreee from SUNY, Utica/Rome.  Donna was employed in numerous restaurants/taverns in Florida and Herkimer.  She was also at one time employed with HARC and most recently, Herkimer County Catholic Charities, Ilion.  She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Ilion where she was active in church affairs and served as an Elder and a Deacon.  She was also involved with the Presbytery of Utica.  For a period of time, Donna was active in MOVAC, was an Ombudsman for Folts Homes, sang in her church choir and with the community choir in Remsen. She is survived by her nieces and nephews:  Debbie Chappelle and husband Doug, Stephen Fosciani and wife Rachael, Jerry Gains, Mike, Sam and Butch Stevens; many great nieces and nephews along with her many, many friends in the Mohawk Valley and around the country.  She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Shirley and Linda.  Mohawk Valley Funerals and Cremations, 7507 State Route 5 (corner of Bidelman Road), between Little Falls and St. Johnsville, 315-508-5131 has been entrusted with Donna's full obituary and arrangements for cremation. A Joyful Gathering to celebrate Donna's life to be on December 8th, 1- 3 PM at Galinsky Apartments, 105 Protection Ave, Herkimer.
