Safe in Gods Embrace

Mrs. Donna Rae Hamer Harrington, 83, of Dygert Road, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, March 14, 2021 at her residence with the love and support of her family by her side.

She was a 1955 graduate of Nyack High School, and over the course of her life, she worked numerous manufacturing jobs. She was a proud wife of a dairy farmer for many years, and she never experienced a greater love than in her Savior.

Donna is predeceased by her husband Arthur Harrington, son Daniel Terwilliger, first husband Russell Terwilliger, and her parents Golda May and Hugh R. Hamer. She leaves behind her sister June Smith and brother Hugh Hamer along with her children Terry (Eddie) Peet, Tammy Smith (Steve Kuntzch), Tracy Ryan, David (Pam) Terwilliger, and Dan (Angela) Terwilliger, along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was an avid animal lover who owned a variety of animals over the course of her life. She found joy and solace in animals and had two special companions: Eagle and Cute Cute. She had a love for all animals and was always willing to take in another if needed. Donna loved her home in Palatine Bridge, NY, and maintaining her homestead. She found pleasure tending to her garden of gorgeous flowers, watching her bird feeders, and enjoying the beauty of nature as often as she could. Donna was strongly opinionated about her beliefs and was always willing to share and have a passionate discussion with anyone. Those who knew her, know that she was a force to be reckoned with and she was one of the strongest people you will have ever known. An affectionate name given to her by her children was, “The Grand Marshal”, which she loved. Donna was the matriarch of her family; she was a loving mother who will be forever missed but always in our hearts.

Donna and her family's care has been entrusted to Mohawk Valley Funerals and Cremations, 7507 State Route 5 (corner of Bidleman Road), Little Falls, 315-508-5131. A service will take place at the convenience of the family at the Gerald B. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
