Gaylene C. Nuborazek

February 13, 1941 — November 10, 2016

Frankfort/Little Falls, NY-Gaylene C. Nuborazek, age 75, of 213 W. Main St., Frankort, a native of Little Falls, passed away peacefully on Thursday evening, Nov. 10, 2016 at Homelife at Folts Homes, Herkimer.   She was born in Little Falls on Feb. 13, 1941, daughter of the late Lademier and Fredericka (Gressler) Nuborazek and educated in Little Falls schools.  She furthered her education receiving an associate degree from Herkimer County Community College.  Gaylene was employed formerly by MDS.  For 22 years she held employment with the New York State Thruway Authority where many will remember her as a toll collector and was currently employed in this capacity.  She was a loyal communicant of Holy Family Parish, Little Falls and in earlier years active at St. Mary’s Academy.  Love came first in her life always going above and beyond to maintain strong family bonds with her children and her grandchildren whom she loved dearly.  In her leisure time, Gaylene enjoyed knitting, crocheting and reading.  Many pleasurable moments were spent shopping with her close friends and of course those times at the American Legion Post #31 in Little Falls where she was an Auxiliary member and served as past president.  Gaylene also served as past president of the American Legion County Auxiliary and for the 5th District.  She will be sadly missed by all those who knew her. Survivors include two loving children, Lademier Nuborazek of Little Falls and Rachel Wilson of Frankfort; four cherished grandchildren, Benjamin, Blakelee, J’nelle, Payton and her adored great granddaughter, Jasmine; her dear friends, Barb Stokey, Lois Thomas, Shirley Jones, Brenda Johnson, Bill George and Mary Zambri along many other companions.  The family will receive relatives and friends at Daniel J. Enea Funeral and Cremation Care, 5860 State Route 5, between Little Falls and Herkimer (508-5250) on Monday, Nov. 14, 2016 from 5-7 p.m.  All members of the Lady American Legion Auxiliary are asked to gather at the funeral home at 6pm on Monday evening to conduct services.  Gaylene’s funeral will commence on Tuesday, Nov. 15, at 9:15 am from the chapel at Dan Enea’s funeral home location where prayer will be offered and 10 am from Holy Family Parish with the Rev. Terence Healy, officiating assisted by Deacon James Bower.  Burial will be privately held at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Route 5, Herkimer.  Following the church service, relatives and friends are respectfully invited to a celebration of Gaylene’s life at the American Legion in Little Falls.  The family requests all memorial offerings in her name be sent to the Holy Family Parish Memorial Fund.  A heartfelt thank you is extended to the staff and residents at Homelife at Folts especially the 1st floor for their kindness and compassion.  To offer online condolences, click to the left.
