Mr. Gerald Joseph "Jerry" Robellard, age 89, a longtime Mohawk resident, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 11th, 2020 at St. Luke's Hospital, New Hartford.

Jerry was born on August 15, 1931 in New York Mills, NY. He is the son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Robellard. Jerry was raised in Schuyler, NY, where he graduated from Frankfort-Schuyler High School, along with his siblings. On May 19, 1951, he was united in marriage to the former Joyce Marie Shipengrover in Rome, NY. For many years, Jerry worked for R.K. Casadonte in Little Falls, before starting his own plumbing and heating business in 1975 alongside his brother Harold. Jerry ran the successful plumbing and heating business Robellard Brothers with Harold for 35 years. After his brothers passing Jerry continued in the plumbing business alongside his son Dave Robellard.

Jerry was an avid John Wayne Fan. On Friday nights you could catch him having John Wayne movie nights with his grandson Derek Beach. In his younger years Jerry enjoyed fishing and camping out at Sylvan Beach with his family. He loved playing baseball with his children when they were growing up, as well as the bike rides, he took with his them. Jerry always adored spending time with his family, and the annual family reunions. There is nothing Jerry would not do to help his loved ones. Jerry was always there with an answer when his children or grandchildren had problems or questions. He was never too busy to help anyone who needed it and always had the answer or solution. Jerry always seemed to have the best kept lawn in the neighborhood.

Gerald is survived by his loving wife Joyce of 69 years and is also survived by his three children, Steve Robellard of Utica, Dave Robellard, and his wife Mary of Ilion, Carol Beach, and her late husband Ron Beach, of Herkimer. Survivors also include his grandchildren, Derek Beach of Ilion, Kyle Beach of Mohawk, Danielle Beach of Herkimer, Eric and James Robellard Ilion, Jennifer of Mohawk, Ryan and Jeremy of Herkimer, and Katherine Robellard of Rome, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Gerald is predeceased by his parents Joseph and Elizabeth Robellard, siblings Harold, Sandra, and Donald, and his two sons Robert and Michael Robellard.

There will be no services or calling hours per the families wishes. Expressions of sympathy may be made with memorial donations to the Herkimer County Humane Society in Gerald Robellard’s name. The family would like to thank all the nurses and doctors at both St. Elizabeth’s and St. Luke’s hospitals for being with Jerry during his time of need. Thank you for all your care and comfort during his time while the family could not be with him. He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends. We love you Jerry!
