Gordon "Gordie" R. Bennett, age 81, of Oxford Town Court Apartments, Town of New Hartford, formerly of Burlington Flats, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 13th, 2022, at the Waterville Residential Care Center, with his family by his side.
He was born June 24, 1940, son of Randall and Wilma Rose Bennett and employed at one time with Norton's Gas Company, Edmeston, NY. He is survived by his wife Frances (Weisberg) of 59 years, his children Tracy (Randy) Spencer, Rodney (Kimberley) Bennett, six grandchildren, Shannon, Shane, Shelby, Kasey, Jakob and Brianna, three great grandchildren, Noelle, Declan and Rowan, Brothers Ronald (Jill) Bennett, Dale (Sandra) Bennett, sisters, Judi Slentz and Paula (Gary) Schoonover and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and sisters, Donna Sweet and Darlene Squires.
Gordie enjoyed pitching horseshoes with his dad for several years, hunting, fishing, trap shooting and softball.
Per Gordie's wishes, there will be no services. Funeral arrangements are under the direction and care of Mohawk Valley Funerals and Cremations, 7507 State Route 5, Little Falls (corner of Bidleman Road), 315-508-5131.
