Grace E. (Dudley) Archambault

April 29, 1929 — December 18, 2024

Grace Archambault, 95 years old, of St. Johnsville, died at Little Falls Hospital on December 18, 2024, with her loving family at her bedside after living the most amazing, active life anyone could wish to have. In typical Grace fashion, she waited to pass until her family gathered around her playing her favorite card game and drinking wine they snuck in for one last party with the life of the party herself.

Grace was predeceased by her husband, Linford Archambault, an engineer on the D and H Railroad who passed in May of 1994. She is survived by her daughter, Rita Ecker and her husband Vaughn, granddaughter, Deborah Sanders and her husband, Russell, her great granddaughter, Kylie Ferguson and her husband, Keith and her great granddaughter, Aimee Shepard and also by her brother, Jingles Dudley.

Grace lived a life of adventure having worked at Yankee Trails as a tour guide, traveling America and making friends everywhere she went. Never one to shy from pranks and tricks she loved to dress in elaborate costumes to help pull off a stunt and get a laugh. Her family will always remember her answering the door dressed as a snowman on Christmas day… last year. Grace enjoyed spending time with her friends, playing cards with the Red Hat Ladies and causing trouble. Her family, especially her grandchildren, meant the world to her as I’m sure her friends know, having heard low key brags about them over and over again. On the eve of her death Grace awoke to tell her great granddaughter her wishes for special shoutouts to family members in particular: “Rita, thank you for calling me every day, sometimes more than once a day to chat with me. Deborah, thank you for the love and care you gave me in my older years. Kylie, thank you for spending weekends with me growing up and spending the night in the hospital with me so I can tell you all this. Aimee, thank you for always taking the time to see me and spend time with me on holidays and coming to the nursing home to give me a spa day to do my nails.”

Her wicked sense of humor, generous disposition and loving attitude will be deeply missed by those who knew her. Please join us for one last party in Grace’s honor! Please wear colorful clothes only as we aren’t mourning, we are celebrating a life well lived!
