III John J. Oliver

December 31, 1969 — May 17, 2018

Little Falls/Oppenheim, NY- John J. Oliver, III, age 54, a native of Little Falls, currently of Route 331, town of Oppenheim passed away on Thursday morning, May 17, 2018 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, due to heart complications. He was born on October 23, 1963, in Little Falls, son of the late John J. and Anne N. (Izzo) Oliver, Jr., and graduated from Little Falls High School, “Class of 1982”.  He was last employed with Helmont Mills, St. Johnsville.  John and his beloved companion, Tess Ann Hart, have shared nearly 30 wonderful years together.  John was the best brother, uncle, companion, son and friend that anyone could ask for.  A friend to everyone, you could always count on John to be a loyal and caring person to lean on during times of trouble.  He was extremely handy, loved working in the garage and was very mechanically talented.  Some of his hobbies included coin and baseball card collecting and trips to the casino.  John was the type of person who would do anything for his family and friends. If you were one of the people who were lucky enough to be part of that group, you saw firsthand the kind of man he was. He also loved to eat, attending bbq’s and smoking his signature meats for everyone to enjoy.  He leaves his companion, Tess Ann at home in Oppenheim; five loving sisters, Joyce Oliver of Virginia, Rose Derkay and husband Harry of Florida, Janice Gorinshek and husband Mark of Little Falls, Susan Oliver and Todd Simpson of MA and Barbara Strong and husband David of Ilion; his step children, Dale Smith and wife Kim of Nelliston, Debbie Gordon and husband Derek of Johnstown, Allen Hart and wife Barb of St. Johnsville, Jeffrey Hart and wife Tanney of St. Johnsville and Todd Gannon of Oppenheim; step-grandchildren, AJ, Allison, Brittany, Vincent, Carl, Matt, Jake, Zack, Megan, and Amber; step great grandchildren, Kane and Connor; nieces and nephews all of whom were very special to John, Stephen, Alison, Jordan, Kara, Kristian, Matthew, Andrew, Valerie and Dominick. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to his funeral service, commencing at 6 pm on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at Mohawk Valley Funerals and Cremations (Daniel J. Enea, owner), 7507 State Route 5 (corner of Bidleman Road) between Little Falls and St. Johnsville, 315-508-5131.  Visitation for family and friends will be held also on Tuesday at Mohawk Valley Funerals and Cremations, from 4-6 p.m., prior to his funeral service.  Burial will take place privately.  To offer an online note of condolence to the family, click above.
