Jacqulyn Marie (Gonyea) Potts

Jacqulyn Marie (Gonyea) Potts was born at the Ilion Hospital on May 12, 1949.  She passed away at Fox Hospital, Oneonta on Friday, December 22, 2023. She was the daughter of the late George & Madlyn (Bowman) Gonyea.

 

Growing up on the family farm in Frankfort, NY with several brothers and sisters made for lots of memories. Some favorite memories from that time included chasing the calves by the tail, midnight toboggan rides on shovels and car hoods with grandma, to playing cards and board games all together.  After graduating from high school, Jaqulyn worked for many years on and off in the restaurant business. She graduated as an LPN in 1993.

 

Jacqulyn enjoyed going antiquing and visiting thrift stores, crafting and gardening. She loved fishing, visiting the beach, camping and spending time with her family.  She will be greatly missed. 

 

Survivors include her cherished family, her sons, Jason (Heathre) Potts, Jeremiah (Kirbey) Baker, Joshua (Michelle) Baker and Andrew (Erin) Baker, her beloved grandchildren, Breanna & Jason Potts Jr, Paulina & Stella Baker,  her siblings, George (Fran) Gonyea, Penny (John) Mariotti, Gordon “Lanny”(Sandra) Gonyea, Sheri (George) Polley, Denise Maupin, Garret (Laurie) Gonyea and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded by her two daughters, Lisa & Jennifer and a sister-in-law Sandra Gonyea.

 

The family would like to say a special thank you to Karissa Decker for helping the family care for mom in her last few days at home. 

 

Relatives and friends may pay their respects to Jacqulyn's family at the locally owned Mohawk Valley Funerals and Cremations, 7507 State Route 5, between Little Falls and St. Johnsville, 315-508-5131, on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 from 5p-6p with a service to conclude the evening to follow at 6 pm.  Burial will be private.
