James J. Jimimac McDonald

November 24, 1948 — December 16, 2016

Clifton Park/Herkimer-Mr. James J. "Jimimac" McDonald, age 68, of Clifton Park, passed away peacefully on Friday evening, December 16, 2016 in the comfort of his home.  At the time of his passing he was in the presence of his loving companion, Maureen B. Campagna Scerra of Clifton Park.  He battled his illness for more than a year with many wonderful friends, support throughout the year. He was predeceased by his son, Michael McDonald in 2011.  He is survived by a son, Jay McDonald of Northampton, PA, a sister, Janet McDonald of New Jersey and a cousin, Janine Kerrison of New Jersey.  He was a graduate of Dickerson High School, NJ and retired from CSX Railroad as an assistant chief dispatcher in 2008.  He was an avid sports fan with the New York Giants and the New York Yankees at the top of his list.  He had a passion for golf, wine and cigars and playing the horses. There were two very special people, Annie and Maria Scerra, who were a part of his life along with many current and lifelong friends.  A wonderful man with a wonderful sense of humor who will be dearly missed.   There are no calling hours.  Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to a memorial Mass of Christian Burial commencing at 10 AM on Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2016 from St Mary's Crescent Catholic Community, 86 Church Hill Rd., (church is located in Crescent, exit 8, off of Route 87) with Father Joe Cebula, pastor officiating.  The family will receive relatives and friends at the conclusion of the Mass in the vestibule of the church.  Burial will be private.  Funeral and cremation supervision is in the caring guidance of Daniel J. Enea Funeral and Cremation Care, 5860 State Route 5, between Herkimer and Little Falls (near St. Mary's Cemetery) with assistance from Chase-Smith Family Funeral Homes (Saratoga County).  For any questions about the service please contact Dan Enea at 508-5250.
