The family of Jamie Christine Bass, age 41, is sad to announce she passed away peacefully on Sunday afternoon, July 14, 2024, following a long courageous battle with cancer. She had the love and support of her family at her bedside, when her passing occurred at the Siegenthaler Center, New Hartford.
She was born December 30th, 1982 raised in Little Falls, NY and is the daughter of Arthur and Mary Bass. She is also survived by her loving children; Myasia and Nicholas Bass of Little Falls, New York. She leaves behind her brothers; Arthur Bass Jr (Anne) of Poland, New York; and Justin Bass (Krista) of Little Falls, New York. Jamie also leaves behind several aunts, uncles, nephews, cousins, and friends. She joins in heaven her paternal grandparents, Ruth and Everett Bass(III), as well as her uncles; David, Daniel, Everett, William, and Jason. She once more joins beloved friend, Alyssa Goodman.
Jamie spent her childhood at her family home in Little Falls, experiencing God's creation of the outdoors, spending much of her time surrounded by nature where she found her adventurous spirit, environmental stewardship, and a love for music; providing the ones around her a holistic view of her multifaceted personality. During her high school years, Jamie spent time enjoying her friends and making lasting memories. She welcomed her beloved daughter within those years, and went on to finish her diploma and pursue higher education. She welcomed a son shortly after, and spent many years with her children and family relishing in sports games, traveling, spontaneity, and fun. Her role as a mother is lovingly emphasized, by sharing qualities of unconditional love, strength, and generosity that extended beyond her immediate family to encompass a wide network of loved ones. Jamie was a fun spirited soul who took on many passions. Jamie found comfort and peace in capturing raw nature and using it to express herself.
She had an incredible love for the ocean . This is what drew her to her long-time home of Martha’s Vineyard. While living on the island, she took a passion to collect sea glass and make jewelry. She enjoyed upcycling with different materials, as well as indulging in the hidden treasures the island has to offer. Jamie found her true self when she took the leap to move to The Vineyard, and lived that truth every day of her life. Jamie has been described as a hard worker, passionate about whatever she set her mind to. Jamie was undoubtedly strong, determined and comical. She loved fiercely.
“Seeing death as the end of life is like seeing the horizon as the end of the ocean.” A celebration of Jamie’s life will be held privately within family and close friends, and we would like to thank Daniel Enea, Director of Mohawk Valley Funerals and Cremations, Little Falls, with whom we entrusted Jamie's funeral arrangements with.
