Jan J. Bishal

On Monday, July 31^st, Jan Joseph Bishal, born on October 12, 1945, to his parents, Peter and Emilie Bishal, in Herkimer, NY, took his last breaths with his loving family by his side.

He is survived by his wife, the former Frances Dowhaniak, married on April 25^th, 1981 in Herkimer, NY; and his five children: Michele Bishal Gilbert and husband Billy Gilbert; Emilianne Bishal and partner Chris Bishal; Ryan Bishal; Kristine Bishal; and Jana Bishal and husband Mike Smith. He had two grandchildren, Danielle and Cassandra Gilbert, and two grandpups, Henry and Lola.

Jan was a full time electrician, under his own company of Bishal Electric. After retirement, he continued a successful business of selling electrical equipment.

He enjoyed fishing, collecting and restoring classic cars, in particular Ford Fairlanes, traveling and exploring local cuisines. He also loved playing with his beloved dog, Daisy, who was with him for 15 years.

Jan will be cremated and his family has scheduled a private service for immediate family only. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to Hospice & Palliative Care https://hospicecareinc.org/donations/.  The family has selected the locally owned and operated Mohawk Valley Funerals and Cremations, 7507 State Route 5, between Little Falls and St. Johnsville, 315-508-5131 to assist them with cremation arrangements.
