John Allan Traskey, Jr., 40, also known as “John John”, “Junior”, “June Bug”, a longtime Dolgeville resident, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, Nov. 7, 2024, of an illness.
He was born on June 28, 1984, in Little Falls, son of the late John Allan Traskey, Sr., and Priscilla Traskey-Uebele of Dolgeville. He received his education in Dolgeville schools and last employed with Dekatherm, Inc., Auburn.
He leaves behind his mother, Priscilla Traksey-Uebele and husband Bill of Dolgeville, his beautiful daughters, Lilla, Kyleigh and Skylynn; his brothers, Scott Traskey and fiancé Lindsay, his brother, Matt Traskey and wife Jess, brother, Chris Traskey and wife Katy and his stepbrothers and stepsisters, Jayson, Dawn, Carrie, Charles, Sonya, and David. He was predeceased by his stepbrothers, Mark Falcone and Daniel Vebele. John also leaves behind his devoted long-time fiancé, Brytni; many nieces and nephews; close friends, Nick Curri and Craig Barrows.
John loved the outdoors, loved camping and fishing with friends and family. He loved the Notre Dame Football Team as well as the NY Giants. Junior enjoyed playing horseshoes at family gatherings and had a big heart for animals, mostly for his own dogs and enjoyed his yearly visit from a bear he named “Winnie the Pooh”. Above all, John loved his family and friends, all who will miss him dearly.
Relatives and friends are invited to visitation at Dan Enea’s-Mohawk Valley Funerals and Cremations, 7507 State Route 5, between Little Falls and St. Johnsville, 315-508-5131 on Saturday, November 16, 2024, from 10AM-12 pm. A service of remembrance will be held at the conclusion of the visitation at 12 pm on Saturday at MVFC. Burial will take place at a later date at Dolgeville Cemetery.
