Joseph John Lasowski

Little Falls, New York

Mr. Joseph J. Lasowski, Joe, a lifelong resident of Little Falls passed away peacefully at his home from natural causes on Monday morning, September 25, 2023. He was 86 .

Joe was born in Herkimer on May 13, 1937 son of the late Joseph and Jenny Lasowski and attended Herkimer schools.  He entered into the military service with the US Air Force, and was a proud veteran receiving an honorable discharge. He was united in marriage to Betty Jean Kasiak at Saint Joseph's Church Herkimer, celebrating 62 years of marriage. Joe was employed by Mohawk Valley bottling works in Herkimer. He later became the owner/operator of Bober’s Meat Market in Little Falls. He was so proud of his hard work at the meat market and talked about it fondly with family and friends.  He later worked at Budweiser Beer Distribution in Little Falls. His last employment was with Smith Meat Packing, Utica. A proud veteran Joe was a member of the Little Falls American Legion Post 31 and the Little Falls Polish Home.

Joe was very musically inclined which included his love for the trumpet, the accordion and his love of his piano, still enjoying music in his final days.  A kind and caring man who loved his family and friends, always putting others first.  

Survivors include his beloved wife, Betty of 62 years at home, son, Jimmy Lasowski of Little Falls and daughter, Lori Jean and son-in-law Greg Tholen of Lake Lure, North Carolina. He also is survived by two brothers, Ronald Lasowski and Robert Lasowski along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his loving son, Joseph “Joey” Lasowski and by his brother, William ”Bill” Lasowski. The family will have a graveside service at Saint Mary's Cemetery, Town of Herkimer on Wednesday, October 4, 2023 commencing at 10 am.  Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Military honors will be offered by the US Air Force.  There are no calling hours.
