Little Falls-Joseph M. "Joe" Leon, age 55, of Flint Ave., Ext., passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, October 1, 2019 at Bassett Healthcare, Cooperstown in the presence of his loving family members, who were always at his side. He fought a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on June 30, 1964, in Little Falls son of Dayton Leon and the late Florence (Jones) Leon and he received his education in Little Falls schools. Joe enjoyed fishing, baseball and was a Yankee fan. He was a diehard Buffalo Bills fan. Joe was a loving family man, son, brother and uncle who was extremely family oriented. In his earlier years, he took part in karate and excelled in it. Survivors include his beloved family; his father, Dayton Leon of Little Falls; siblings, Cindy Uhlig and Ron of Herkimer, Kim Mahoney and husband Rich of Herkimer, Dayton Leon, Jr. and companion Liz Reginoato of Virginia, Tonya Leon and companion Steve Slaboc of Stratford, Debbie Jones of Little Falls, Analisa Leon of Little Falls, Holly Dreuske of Ilion; numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces, great nephews; his dear friends, Darla (and "Granny") and Steve Sterusky, Chuckie Oldfield, Jr., Jeannie and John Sterusky. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Lamar (Mark) Leon in 2010 and Todd Leon in 2016. Traditional funeral services will take place on Monday, October 7, 2019 at Church Street Cemetery, West Monroe Street, Little Falls, commencing at 1 pm.
