Little Falls, NY-Mr. Joseph D. "Joe" Scanlon, age 59, of Little Falls, passed away on Monday, March 11th, 2019, at Cooperstown Hospital with his family by his side, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on October 11th, 1959 to the late Kenneth and Arleen (Hudd) Scanlon. He went to school at Little Falls High school, during which he worked at Stack's Farm where he met Valerie Salm. They were united in marriage at the Salm family farm on September 17th, 1983. Joe worked for Woods Tire Service and then Stark Electric. Joe was a friend to all and loved and respected by many. He was favored by all the kids because like he told them all “you know, your my favorite!”. Like his father, Joe had the skills to fix anything and everything with the slogan ‘Git-R-Done’. He loved the outdoors and bonfires. He loved his country music especially Willie Nelson and spent many hours teaching himself to play the guitar. Joe is survived by his beloved wife Valerie of 41 years; three sisters, Kathleen (Thomas) Canastar, Sharon Scanlon, and Terry Scanlon; a brother, Jim (Pearl) Scanlon; father-in-law, Charles Salm; sisters-in-law, Laura (Michael) Cook, and Lynette Munio; brothers-in-law, Clifford (Linda) Munio, Coneie Munio (Ann-Marie), Ronald (Amy) Salm, Darrell (Nicole) Salm, Brian (Lori) Munio, Lynn (Kim) Salm; many beloved nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Patrick (Joyce) Scanlon, Thomas (Laureen) Scanlon; and mother-in-law Alcenia Salm. Per Joe's wishes, no funeral or services will be held at this time.
