Jr. Harold Wally Wallace Hardy

June 8, 1930 — March 5, 2018

Harold “Wally” Wallace Hardy: In loving memory of our Father, Harold “Wally” Hardy who passed away on Monday, March 5th at the age of 87 and went to be with our Lord and Savior. Wally was blessed to have 2 loving parents Harold and Juliette Hardy along with 2 sisters Terrie and Dana. Wally grew up in New York Mills and went to New York Mills and Whitesboro schools.  Wally married our mother Joan “Joanie” Cole back in 1951 and together they created our family and the many memories that we hold. Wally spent 4 years in the Air Force from 1951 thru 1955, initially stationed at Scott Air Force Base in Belleville, Illinois. Anyone who knew Wally knows that he loved boats, he was actively involved in the Marine Industry for over 40 years and was known as “Mr. Boat”.  We cherish our fond memories of spending summer days at the lake on a boat or in the water swimming. Wally also found a love for electronics, he was an avid train collector, HAM radio operator and in his later years built and repaired computers. Wally had a fondness for animals as well, giving a loving home to multiple dogs and cats over the years. Wally and our mother parted ways in 1990 and he married Marsha Ewell, spending his remaining years with her until she predeceased him in 2017.  Wally was also predeceased by Joan, his son Paul Hardy, and his sister Dana. Wally was blessed with having many grandchildren and great grandchildren who will fondly remember the quarter behind the ear trick and the many jokes and stories that he told. We Love you and we will miss you our Father, our Dad. Love and God Bless, Steve Hardy and wife Catherine, Kristie (Hardy) Carl and husband Mike, Julie (Hardy) Foppes and husband Brian, and David Hardy and wife Angie. In keeping with Harold's wishes there are no services scheduled at this time. Daniel J. Enea Funeral & Cremation Care, 5860 NY-5 (near St. Mary's Cemetery) between Herkimer and Little Falls, 315-508-5250, has been entrusted with Harold's funeral arrangements.
