Juanita L. (Austin) Jones

Juanita L. (Austin) Jones, age 86, of Dolgeville, NY, passed away the evening of September 30, 2023 at Little Falls Hospital. At the time of her passing, her loving family surrounded her bedside.

Born on June 5, 1937 to the late Carl and Edna (Hicks) Austin, Juanita was raised in Stratford, NY and attended Stratford Central School, where she developed lifelong friendships and cherished memories. She enjoyed attending the annual alumni dinner until her health declined and she was no longer able to go. Juanita worked as a biller at Gehring Tricot, until her retirement in 1999. She served several years as Stratford Town Clerk, a position where she truly enjoyed working with the residents.

Juanita is survived by her sister, Linda Dykeman of Nevada, her children; Gregory Jones of Johnstown, Robert Jones and wife Eunice of Herkimer, Kimberley Kilmartin of Little Falls, and Heidi Parisi and husband Timothy of Little Falls, grandchildren Amanda Lopez and husband Ian of Johnstown, Robert Jones, Jr. and wife Nicole of Westerville. OH, Melissa Jones of Gloversville, Sarah Lamanna and husband Chris of Frederick, MD, Joshua Jones and wife Lauren of Duanesburg, Shawn Jones and wife Kerri of Johnstown, Rachel Parisi-Tooley and husband Miller of Rensselaer, Matthew Jones and special friend Emily Everest of Johnstown, Hannah Ingerham and husband Jarrett of Herkimer, Jacob Parisi and fiance Jensen of Little Falls and Paige Jones of Colorado. She also leaves several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She was a proud mother, grandmother and aunt who brought joy to their lives. She was a source of strength and support for her family and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Juanita was preceded in death by two infant grandchildren and siblings; Roland Austin, Larry Austin, Janis Austin, and Theatra (Austin) Harrison.

The family would like to express special thanks to Betty Jean Cool and Hannah Ingerham, Juanita's at home care givers, that helped keep her in her own home up until the end. A special thanks to all of the Little Falls Hospital 3rd floor staff whose kindness and excellent care made the end of Juanita's life as comfortable as possible and for their supportive care of her family during those very difficult days.

Friends and relatives are invited to attend memorial services at Mohawk Valley Funerals and Cremations, 7507 State Route 5, Town of Manheim, 315-508-5131.   A visitation will take place on Saturday, Oct. 14, 2023 from 10-11 am with a funeral service commencing at 11 am, following visitation, with her son in law, The Rev. Tim Parisi, Pastor of the Little Falls Assembly of God Church, officiating.  Procession will follow to Dolgeville Cemetery, where burial will take place.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that you consider making a donation to the Little Falls Assembly of God Church or Scotch Bush Free Methodist Church. Contributions to these organizations would be a meaningful way to honor Juanita's memory.

Juanita will forever be remembered for her love, kindness, and unwavering faith. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
