Judith Lee "Judy" Haberek

May 3, 1947 — January 28, 2024

Dolgeville/Little Falls, New York

Judith Lee "Judy" Haberek, 76, a long-time Little Falls resident and a Dolgeville native, passed away early Sunday morning, January 28, 2024, at Little Falls Hospital following her valiant battle with lung cancer.

She was born in Dolgeville on May 3, 1947, daughter of the late Jack and Edith (Wessel) Burton. Many will remember Judy as the longtime dedicated right hand at Ed and Buds Bar and Grill, Little Falls. Judy was also a valued employee at Daniel Greene's, LaSalle Labs, and Herkimer Walmart.

During her life she was a great animal lover and worked on Timmerman's Dairy Farm and Lincoln Russell's Farm. She at one time owned a small pet store on Main Street in Little Falls where, true to her nature, she took in more animals than she sold.

She and her long-time companion, Robert "Moose" Kurzbach, would enjoy taking long drives around the Mohawk Valley. Judy was a fixture at Ed & Bud's and all that visited there would tell you that she was a "straight shooter" and kind to all.

Survivors include her devoted companion, Robert “Moose” Kerzbach of Little Falls; her beloved children, Brenda Robinson Maitland of Florida, Leslie Robinson Hoffman and husband, Andy, of Florida, Charles “Aaron” Haberek and Amber of Niverville; cherished grandchildren, Jessica Robinson, Rachel Bryer, Gabby Maitland, Mason and Brayden Haberek; adored great grandchildren, Isabella Maitland, Tucker Maitland, Brannigan Lewis, and Jada Cochis; sisters, Clara (Sue) Jorrey and Jacki Burton; and cousin, Trish Burton Aljuire and her husband, Bill, of Texas.

She was predeceased by her brother, John Nickerson.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, Feb. 5, 2024 from 4 to 6 pm at the locally/family owned Mohawk Valley Funerals and Cremations, 7507 State Route 5, between Little Falls and St. Johnsville.

There will be no formal funeral service. Interment will be private. Kindly consider a memorial contribution in her name to the Herkimer County Humane Society.
