Julie C. (Youker) Alling, age 57, of Piseco Road, Stratford, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, December 29, 2024, at Valley Health Services, Herkimer, following a valiant battle with cancer.
She was born on March 9, 1967, in Little Falls and educated in Stratford schools. She graduated from Dolgeville Central School. Julie was married at one time to Byron Alling and they had two children. She resided in the Dolgeville area for most of her life and was employed at one time at Valley Health Services, Herkimer and formerly for the Lexington Home, Stratford. Julie loved to cook and bake. She treasured being outdoors, horses, kayaking and sunflowers. But what Julie cared most about was her family and spending time with children and grandchildren. In her later years she lived in New Hampshire and while there, she worked at a candy store in Lincoln.
Julie was fiercely family-oriented; she was a devoted mother, daughter, sister, grandmother and friend. Her loved ones have many memories to treasure and will miss her tremendously.
Survivors include her cherished mother, Dawn Youker of Stratford; two children, Joshua Ryan Alling of Herkimer and Corrine Dawn Alling of Newport; two adored grandchildren, Troy and Allanah; her sisters, Laurie Carpenter of Dolgeville (her daughter, Jennifer), Pamela Ward (her children, Missy, Johnathan and Benjamin) of Mohawk, Earl James Youker, Jr and family of Stratford, Eileen Kadle (her children, Brandon (and his children, Nia, Trent and Morgan) Logan Kadle and Quade), and Jeremy Youker and family of Salisbury Center. She is also survived by other extended family members including her cousin and dear friend, Christina Vedder. She was preceded in death by her father, Earl James “Jim” Youker, Sr., in 2017 (former Stratford Highway Superintendent and Stratford Fire Chief) and by two brothers in law, Joseph Ward and Bruce Carpenter, her maternal grandparents, Everett Rockwell (Edna), and paternal grandparents, Earl William Youker (Nina).
The family will commemorate her life at a later date. There are no calling hours. Julie’s funeral arrangements are under the care and guidance of Daniel J. Enea-Director of Mohawk Valley Funerals and Cremations, 7507 State Route 5 (corner of Bidelman Road), Town of Manheim, 315-508-5131.
