June Marie Jones

June Marie Jones, of Little Falls NY and most recently of Alpine Nursing Home passed away on Friday, September 18th at Bassett Healthcare in Cooperstown, NY.

Her journey began on June 18, 1937, in Browns Hollow, the daughter of the late Lena Mae Siets and Eric Jones. She was educated initially in Canajoharie and completed her education at the Utica School of Business.

June was well known in the Little Falls area having been employed at the Allegro Shoe factor and Stewart’s Coffee Shop where she met many friends, eventually retiring from LaSell Cosmetics although she did continue to work part time at the Little Falls Co-Op where she was last employed.

June had a love of gardening and reading which she passed to many of her children and grandchildren, but she was most accomplished at crocheting and quilting.

At one time she was married to the late Everett Hazzard Sr with whom she shared four children, Everett Jr who predeceased her in October 2014, Edward, Jeanine Hazzard-Dygert and Christine Lena Nettles. She also shared two children with Robert Adamovich: Yvonne (Richard) Reed and Thomas Adamovich of Angier, NC.

She was predeceased by her parents, her eldest son, daughter-in-law Nancy Hazzard, son-in-law Terry Dygert, her three sisters Mary Ellen Johnson, Josephine Beacraft and Harriett Euler, as well as special partners over the years, Robert Adamovich and William Null. She is survived by her children, Edward, Jeanine, Christine, Yvonne and Thomas, as well as 11 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, 8 great-great grandchildren as well as many, many nieces and nephews, including those from the Hazzard family who will always remember her as “Aunt June”.

The family would like to thank her caregivers over the years including Jennifer VanSlyke, as well as those at Alpine Nursing Home and Bassett Healthcare in Cooperstown.
