Kathleen J. (Murphy) Ward age 77, born in Utica NY on January 24, 1944 passed away with her family by her side on December 22, 2021 at the Alpine Rehab and Nursing Home, Little Falls, NY.
She enjoyed classic country music, the oldies, western movies, playing pitch and loved John Wayne. Kathleen always looked out for all of the other residents by advocating for their needs and predeceased by her parents, Kenneth and Mable Murphy and by her best friend “twin brother”, Kenneth C. Murphy, husbands, Charles D. Ward and Herman R. Hull.
Survivors include her sister, Sharon (Murphy) Coe of Poland NY, children; Christine (Steve) DiNigro, Billie Jo (Kirk) Hull, Charleen (Mark) Henshaw, Shawn Ward, Valerie (Sook) Kratzenberg, Kathy (Daniel) Brown; 17 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews and many old-time friends of several local establishments in Utica, NY in which she tended bar.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Stephanie of The Alpine for all of the special attention given to our mother the past few years, this was never un-noticed. Per our mothers wishes there will be a private cremation with a Celebration of Life to be planned by the family in the future near Oneida Lake, one of our moms’ favorite places. Kathy and her family's care has been placed in the trust of Mohawk Valley Funerals and Cremations, 7507 State Route 5 (corner of Bidleman Road), between St. Johnsville and Little Falls, 315-508-5131.
