Keith A. Ropeter, 70, of lifelong resident of Little Falls, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, October 6, 2020 in Little Falls Hospital, with his loving family, following an illness.

He was born on March 30, 1950, in Little Falls, the son of the late Lester and Dorothy Bass Ropeter and was educated in Little Falls Schools. On April 20, 1975, Keith married the former Hazel Marie Bradt. The couple settled in Little Falls where they would raise their family.

Keith, as a devoted hard-working man, was employed with various companies throughout his life. He retired from the N.A. Taylor Company, Gloversville. Keith was an avid hunter and fisherman. He found peace spending time with his family while being in nature. During his free time, Keith enjoyed any and all Western movies. He was proud of raising his family, and the love his family carries with them will be forever.

Keith is survived by his wife of 45 years, Hazel; his step daughters whom he raised as his own, Candy and Elroy Portis of Alabama and Jennifer Bradt of Little Falls; his son Lester Ropeter, Sr. of Little Falls; his grandchildren, Kelcie and Blake Johns of Alabama, Tyler Smith of St. Johnsville, Cynthia Ropeter of Little Falls and Lester Ropeter, Jr. of Little Falls; his great grandson, Leo Johns of Alabama; his sister and brother-in-law, Gail and Owen Parker of Ilion; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother, Lester Ropeter and his sister, Barbara Ropeter and also his canine companion, Precious.

Family and Friends are invited to offer their condolences from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, October 17, 2020, at Mohawk Valley Funerals and Cremations, 7507 State Route 5 at the corner of Bidleman Road, Town of Manheim between Little Falls and St. Johnsville. Funeral prayers and remembrances will be offered at 3 p.m. at the conclusion of the visitation. Covid regulations are in place and we kindly asked that masks are worn while maintaining social distancing.

Keith and his family’s care has been placed in the trust of Mohawk Valley Funerals and Cremations.
