Mrs. Kim M. Cheney, age 63, of County Highway 108, passed away peacefully in her sleep, in the comfort of her home on Sunday, January 17, 2021, of natural causes.
She was born on Jan. 23, 1957 in Syracuse, daughter of the late Leonard and Joan (Moshier) Spoar and educated in Little Falls Schools. She was united in marriage on Sept. 6, 1997 with Gerard Cheney in the town of Oppenheim.
Survivors include her husband Gerard at home; Christina Allen-Koons and William Koons of Rotterdam, Jason Allen of Nelliston; step children, Melissa Brown and husband Fred of Rome, NY and Douglas Cheney and wife Torri of Cookville, TN; siblings, Bonnie Klock and husband Bill of Little Falls and Carol Leon of Little Falls; grandson, Zachary Koons of Owego, NY; step grandchildren, Madison, Natalie and Merritt and a niece, Sonja Purinton. Also surviving are nephews, cousins and in laws. The family would like to offer their gratitude to the Oppenheim Volunteer Ambulance Corps. for their compassionate care.
Kim and her family's care has been entrusted to Mohawk Valley Funerals and Cremations, 7507 State Route 5 (corner of Bidelman Road), Little Falls, 315-508-5131. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to her funeral service commencing at 6 pm on Friday, January 22, 2021 at the funeral home, where her life will be celebrated. Visitation will be held also on Friday from 4-6 pm, prior to the service at MVFC. Spring burial will take place at Holy Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Little Falls. COVID-19 regulations will be followed at services; temperatures will be taken, face masks will be required, social distancing will be observed and physical contact is discouraged.
