Mr. Leo E. Boucher, Jr., age 91, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his South 3rd Ave, Ilion home on Friday afternoon, August 6th, 2021, with his beloved wife and family by his bedside.

He was born on March 28, 1930, in Claremont, NH, son of the late Leo E. and Lilla A. (Irving) Boucher, Sr. and graduated with the Ilion High School, "Class of 1948". Mr. Boucher answered the call of duty enlisting in 1948 with the US Navy during the Korean War Conflict and was honorably discharged in 1951. He was united in marriage with the former Nora Gour on March 21, 1952, in Ilion and the couple would have celebrated 70 years of marriage next year. Their union was a relationship filled with love, friendship, and loyalty. Mr. Boucher was employed with General Electric, Utica, retiring after 35 years of dedicated service.

A steadfast and simple man, Leo made friends easily and kept them forever. He never let things bother him and was affectionately remembered by his family for his "If you say so" quote. In his leisure time he enjoyed woodworking. He was an avid fisherman and found enjoyment working in his vegetable garden. Mr. and Mrs. Boucher treasured the times when spending part of the year at their home in Florida and also loved to travel.

Survivors include his beloved family; his wife of 69 years, Nora at home; Barbara Boucher of Dolgeville, Michele Borden and husband Frederick of VA, Leo Boucher III "Chip" and wife Gail of VA, Stephanie Boucher of Ilion, and Donna Ladelia and husband Salvatore of Rochester. He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Mary Beth Boucher Spanfelner and infant son, James Charles Boucher. Also surviving is a brother, Robert Boucher and wife Alice of FL; ten cherished grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family offers their deepest gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff on the 3rd floor at Little Falls Hospital for their thoughtful concern and also to home health care aid, Laurel for her compassion. For those wishing, the family requests that memorial contributions be sent to Hospice Care, Inc., 4277 Middle Settlement Rd., New Hartford, NY 13413.

Leo and his family's care has been placed in the trust of Mohawk Valley Funerals and Cremations, 7507 State Route 5, Little Falls (corner of Bidleman Road), 315-508-5131.
