Lester E. Gallt, Jr. 53, of a longtime resident of Fort Plain, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2023, following a long illness, at home, surrounded by the love of his family.

Lester was born December 3, 1969 at Little Falls Hospital, son of the late Lester Gallt Sr and Cathy (Loucks) Gallt.  He was united in marriage to the love of his life, Tina (Smith) Gallt, on August 5, 1995.  Les was a well known area mechanic and last employed with Brown's Ford, Amsterdam.  

He was predeceased by both his parents, by his sister, Judy; niece, Emily and by his loving nephew, Johnny Gallt.  Lester was known as the life of the party, for his smile, jokes, laughter, hardwork and for the love of his family. He would always help anyone in need and would light up any room he walked into. 

Survivors include his wife Tina, their four children, Kiesha (Don) Dodson, Kristen (Josh) Battisti, Kyle Calhoun, Korie Calhoun; siblings Bob (Angie) Barhydt, Kathy Barhydt, Theresa Hunsaker, Leta Gallt (Matt & Casey Gallt), and Randy (Cindy) Gallt; best friends Debbie (Dave) Senft and Harry (Grace) Hagadorn; ten grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

He will be deeply missed by all that were blessed to have met him. Lester would like you all to “keep in touch with yourself!”

In keeping with Lester’s wishes there will be no funeral arrangements. As the life of a party, Lester would love all his family and friends to come together to celebrate his life which will be scheduled at the convenience of his family.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Lester’s memories to Mountain Valley Hospice, 108 Steele Ave, Gloversville, NY 12078. Arrangements are under the direction and care of Mohawk Valley Funerals and Cremations, 7507 State Route 5, between St. Johnsville and Little Falls, 315-508-5131.
