Linda Marie Denapole

September 17, 1956 — April 29, 2023

Middleville, New York

It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of their beautiful wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister, Linda Marie Denapole, on April 29th, 2023. Linda's passing occurred at home surrounded by her loving family, after a valiant battle with pancreatic cancer. She was 66 years old.

Linda was born in Herkimer, NY, on September 17, 1956, to William and Mary Young. She attended Poland Central School and graduated with the "Class of 1974", and on August 28, 1976, Linda was united in marriage to Donald Denapole in the Poland Baptist Church. Not long after, Linda became a loving mother to their two children, and more recently a grandmother. After staying at home to raise her children in their younger years, she worked as a secretary for Community Services, Inc., a consulting firm owned by her husband, and continued there for 30 years. She most recently worked at SUNY Polytechnic Institute in food service.

Linda was a wonderful cook, and she loved hosting Christmas Eve celebrations for her family. She always wore a colorful sweater, prepared the best food, including her famous antipasto, and she would also mix the best holiday drinks! During the summer you could find her mowing the lawns or more importantly cruising in the boat with her husband Don on Lake Ontario. One of her favorite hobbies was shopping, and she never had enough purses!

When Linda's granddaughter Charlotte came along, it began a whole new chapter in her life. Charlotte was her whole world, and she cherished the days she spent caring for her. Ironically when Charlotte was recently asked to choose a toy to bring to her grandma, she chose a warrior figurine. This is exactly how the entire family viewed their Linny. It would be wrong to say she lost her battle to pancreatic cancer, because she never stopped fighting. She was definitely a true warrior.

Linda is survived by her husband, Don, their children, Tania Denapole and companion Tim Mancini, D.J. Denapole and fiance Lauren Christensen and granddaughter Charlotte. Her parents, William and Mary Young of East Herkimer, her siblings, Cathy Young of Prospect, Mary Susan (Jeff) Fuller of Newport, William Young, Jr. of Prospect, and Cheryl (Frank) Gorinshek of Newport, brother-in-law Michael Denapole and companion Mary Lane, and several nieces and nephews. Linda was predeceased by her in-laws, Melvin and Wava Gross, as well as her maternal and paternal grandparents.  Throughout Linda's life she had a very close and special relationship with Aunt Carol and Grama Bell.

A private memorial service for family members will be held in honor of Linda. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care, 4277 Middle Settlement Rd., New Hartford, NY 13413. The family would like to give a heartfelt " thank you" to Linny's angel, her sister Susie, who is a warrior as well, fighting the demons of Linda's pancreatic cancer, beside Linny each and every day of Linny's journey throughout the past couple of months. As Linda told the family in her final days, "it's all good." We love you Linny!

Funeral arrangements are under the direction and care of Mohawk Valley Funerals and Cremations, 7507 State Route 5, between Little Falls and St. Johnsville, 315-508-5131.
