Lori Ann Drake

Lori A. Drake, age 58, a longtime Ilion resident, passed away on Monday morning, July 3, 2023 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Utica, with the love and support of her family at her side.

Lori was born on Dec. 15, 1964 in Pomona, California, daughter of the late Billy George and Sharon Claudette (Ellison) Luthultz and educated in Nebraska.  On June 29, 1996, she was united in marriage with James Raymond Drake; a union of twenty seven years. She was last employed with Lowes, Herkimer, in the maintenance department.

Lori loved to cook amazing food and would create amazing cakes. She loved power tools and was a talented handywoman; she could fix anything.  Lori was a selfless woman who always tended to the needs of her loved ones, no matter what.  She was also a talented seamstress with endless creativity.  

She was predeceased by her daughter, Angel Marie Drake. Survivors besides her husband Jim, include her son Charles Edward Francis Drake, and leaves a very large loving family.  She  especially had a special bond with Jim's mom and dad, Kathy and Bernie Shipman, who she always looked forward to doing projects and spending time with.  

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to Lori's memorial service commencing at 11 am on Saturday, July 15, 2023 at Cedarville Cemetery with Matthew Drake, officiating.  Following the cemetery service, all are invited to a celebration of Lori's life inside the Cedarville Fire Hall.

Arrangements for cremation are being planned under the direction and care of the locally owned and operated Mohawk Valley Funerals and Cremations, 7507 State Route 5, between Little Falls and St. Johnsville, (315-508-5131).
